good to hear Taksh is great, not so good for the Parekhs with the running around :-)

I love the "Yashaswini scheme" introduced by Dr. Devi Shetty and the Karnataka govt. It really helps the poor to take care of themselves at minimal cost. One of my cousins who is a farmer from the village went in for a relatively expensive treatment at Manipal, but had to finally shell out a few hundred rupees vs triple of tens of thousands, thanks to the insurance.

Devi Shetty has indeed revolutionized health care / esp heart care through Narayana hrudayala and the Yashaswini scheme.

Absolutely good question! What if you hadn't been parents who go to 3 doctors? Doctors in our country, in my experience, are often clueless. Do you know I have PCOD which means I get ovarian cysts, and most of the doctors turn around and tell me, get married, have kids and it will get solved. So that's all a woman is for! My mum was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia instead of Dementia, by someone who was the head of the Psychiatric Association in India. All your humour is endearing, I am sure it wasn't as easy as the writing! But it also makes me think, what if you hadn't called the doctor at 99.4 in the first place :) But I know that it's hard when you're new parents, my sister has been through that with her daughter, so I totally see where you're coming from! It is the doctor's duty to assuage over anxious parents.

Glad the li'l one is well!

You bet!
Good to hear all's well.

Could it be because some doctors have started to see what they do as a "job"?

On the other hand, you should have taken him to a lab/doctor for the tests rather than relying on google search :)

Healthcare is a maze - developed and developing countries alike face issues with it.
