Feeling bright and cheerful this morning.Had a good sleep (although I was up at 3 and pondering about nothing).
Managed to sleep at around 3:30 and woke up at 7:00.

Hey, how can you even tolerate reading these mundane things about someone’s life? And that too on a computer? You need to cultivate some hobby for sure.

Alright, I think I have been a bit too rude to my readers. But seriously, how can you continue reading this after the earlier sentences? Hahaha….

I plan to leave office late this evening. Want to finish off the entire 73032 tons of work that has piled up on my wooden desk.

(Starting a sentence with a verb is not a good practice. Hahaha…)
Alright, for those of you who missed the joke, read the sentence within the paranthesis once again. Noticed something?

The point is, I am cheerful today and I shall continue to be so till the end of the day.

Enjoy fellows….and get down to doing something more productive rather than reading someone’s blog for entertainment.

Hahaha…

The baggage that we carry is required to be opened at every security check-in, at every transit point and at the final boarding.
Might as well chuck the baggage and enjoy the journey.

I have developed an instant dislike towards bananas. I had one this morning and it made me puke.Yeah, it seems gross to write such things on a blog. But, we really cant expect niceties all the time, can we?

Have a nice day :-)

The Great Depression seems to be waning now.

Helpful tips to fight depression:
a) Watch old classics. Watch them mute.
b) Read Tuesdays with Morrie.
c) Do *not* read The Catcher in the Rye.
d) Drink 8 glasses of water in a day.
e) Write (You think I am writing this for your benefit?)
f) Do *not* read someone’s blog for god’s sake!! Hahaha…got you there.

(There that Hahaha… appears again. The 3 dots at the end yet again.)
Hahaha…
(Those 3 dots freak me out)

One show on television gave me the shivers. I was watching NDTV, a seemingly innocuous news channel.
Suddenly a program titled Crime Time or FIR or something akin to that blares on the screen.
And it starts showing instances of gruesome murders; fights, rape and all that which makes you throw your head back in disgust.
At the end of the program I couldn’t believe I stay in a country where all this happens. Probably that was my dose of truth.

The Australia-Pak cricket match was good to watch. McGrath sporting a new look. He’s always been my favourite bowler.
He can drop the ball at the same spot a million out of a million times.

My recommendation: Watch One flew over the Cuckoo’s nest. Jack Nicholson rocks in that movie.
Second recommendation: Don’t really bother following my recommendations. They are very mood-specific.

Now, the dilemma for you my dear reader is whether to follow my second recommendation or not. It clearly states not to follow any of my recommendations.
So, if you don’t follow any of my recommendations, it means that you followed my second recommendation. Which is not what you set out to do.
If you do follow all of my recommendations, which means you didn’t follow my second recommendation.
(I learnt that “Godel, Escher and Bach” deals in something similar to this.)

Drink 8 glasses of water in a day.

I read bits and pieces of Michael Moore’s “Dude, Where’s my Country?” Its average.

There surely is a difference between “No sugar added” and “No added sugar”.

Okay, I have decided that I want to produce and direct a small play. (Probably one that would last for an hour and a half).
The basic outline is clear to me. I want the play to have a minimalist setting. Only two characters.
The script has got to have a lot of relevance to today’s issues.
If you think you have a script like that, feel free to contact me. Just check with my secretary and book an appointment.
On a serious note, do let me know if you have something substantial to make a play of. It’s got to be an original write-up.

I shall continue writing as long as someone doesn’t drag me away from this chair. So here I am wri…………..

Okay, I was dragged but I managed to escape and come back to the blog. So here I am writing non-stop much to your delight.

(I smile assuringly). Yes, my dear reader, I shall continue writing as long as there is ink in this keyboard. Or whatever that is supposed to be in a keyboard.

Abrupt endings leave a bigger impact on any write-up.

Houston, we have a problem.

I am sure the gang remembers this statement. Used to use it quite often in school/college. It was fun.

I got an opportunity to use this statement a few days ago when I met this friend of mine who has stayed in Houston for sometime.

Houston, we have a problem.
Houston, we have a problem…. a problem…. a problem…problem….BOOM.
Seems like Houston did have a problem.

“Space may be the final frontier but its made in a Hollywood basement”.
Glorification, californication, RHCP rocks.

My circuits are all shorted right now. Gang, remember the time I lost it in Symphony? Manager et al?
Hahaha.
Temper temper burning bright. (Apologies to Mr. William Blake)

So, buy me a star on the boulevard…… :-)

Torn.
The perfect sky is torn.

I am depressed.
I am disturbed.
I shall write more when I feel better.

Okay, alright everybody, relax now.
I am not going to discontinue this blog. Relax.
I mentioned in my previous post that I was deciding on not blogging anymore. (This sentence seems grammatically incorrect).

Having received a flood of letters, e-mails, faxes and telegrams, I have decided to grant you, my readers, the privilege of continuing to read my blog.
A huge crowd had gathered near my residence protesting against my decision of not blogging. A couple of youths with placards fainted since they were protesting since early morning.
My heart goes out to you all. I shall not betray your expectations.
Ladies and gentlemen, here is the announcement you have been waiting for:
I shall definitely continue blogging.
(loud applause heard in the background)
(some more applause….)
(I am waiting for the applause to die down)
There, drink that glass of water and be relieved.

Once in a while I like to kid myself with this kind of self-built publicity. Does wonders to that poor, inert, reserved soul of mine.
Okay, I guess its quite evident that I have nothing substantial to write about.
I want to continue reading the R K Narayan. It’s a wonderful book.

Today India meets Pakistan on a cricket field in Amsterdam. How nice.
Our Olympic contingent has been hit by the doping scandal. Whatever be the truth behind it all, I still stand by and respect the athletes of my nation who are participating in the Olympics.
I stand by and respect all the athletes of all the participating nations.
Representing your nation on a global arena is definitely a huge honour and a very big achievement.

Amsterdam’s Schipol airport is beautiful to say the least. I was privileged to have been in that airport for a few hours. It is simply amazing.
And you get to see a lot of beautiful European clothing, the kind that you would get to see only in old British movies.
Long overcoats with large hats and all that sort of thing.

Anyway, the point is India plays today. The entire nation shall go into a state of delirium. Again.
Cricket matches for us Indians are like gigantic roller coasters. Sometimes we love the ride; sometimes the ride makes us dizzy.
But nevertheless, we are always gearing up to take the ride again.
Out of curiosity? Out of hope? I presume its the latter.

I have written a lot for today!
Would you mind if I write really long posts?
Page-in and let me know (Radio City RJ style).

I am on the verge of deciding to discontinue blogging.
I say this with a heavy heart….sob.
The reasons why I *might* have to stop blogging are many.
One of them is the fact that whatever I write (and whatever I don’t write) ends up stirring a controversy.
“Why was this written?” and “Why was that not written?”.
“Oh! You mean that was more important?” and “Oh! You mean that was less important?”

Come to think of it, I am just penning down _my_ thoughts and opinions. But in a democratic country, I suppose everyone has a say in everything one does.

Had an eventful morning. A huge black cat jumped in through my window (after tearing open the mosquito net fixed on the window pane).
Well, so there I was lying on my bed and seeing this animal get inside my room with forceful ease.
Never had thought of as to how I should react when I see a cat coming in while I am lying on the bed. So, I just lay there for some more time, not knowing what should be done.
You should understand that I am still partially sleepy and tending to dismiss off this sight as a mere apparition.
Anyway, I finally figured that it was happening in reality.
Once in, the cat then got trapped inside the house since all openings were closed (owing to the fact that it was 6 in the morning).
Then the whole house was awake. (By opening all doors and windows, I had managed to wake up everyone)
Anyway, finally managed to open the main door and the cat obligingly exited, of course after having dropped its erstwhile belongings on the doormat.

Cats have nine lives.
It also ends up borrowing many more (I almost thought I lost mine when I saw the cat as a panther thanks to my sleepy state).

Today is Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Today marks the beginning of a new weekend.
Clap…clap…clap….clap….
Today we shall strive to make our forthcoming weekend a valuable one.
We stand on the threshold of two relaxing days.
Lets do ourselves proud over these two days. Let us try to gain maximum out of this weekend.
Clap…clap…clap….clap….

So, here we enter into Friday cautiously. Let us not disturb any thing. Let us just slip into the weekend without making much noise.
Shhhh.

Thank you.

Not feeling well today.
Took the day off.
Saw No Man’s Land. Wonderful movie. Thanks Chilli :-)
Been reading R K Narayan’s Writerly Life. Its a collection of his essays that he used to write for The Hindu’s Sunday paper.
That is about it.
No thoughts to pen down, no opinions to talk about, no nothing.
Life should be as simple as this.
:-)
