Saturday was eventful! Oh it definitely was!!

The morning started off at the gym at around 8:30.
For a change, there were only 3 people in the gym. Usually its crowded with a few hundred. The workout was good.
Lunch at noon followed by bowling at Amoeba. I was my usual pathetic self at bowling.

In the meanwhile, the comp guy came and tried something with my CD drive. He finally seems to have figured out whats wrong with the drive and said he would come back the next day. Lets hope so.

And then Chilli, Inder and I went to Casa Piccola. Waited there for the Devil. Finally the Devil arrived in a blazer and interrupted our conversation about we being losers et al.

So, the Devil, Chilli, Inder and I were conversing about…hmmm…well, about a lot of things. “The” Lavender was there to keep Chilli and me very much engrossed in the conversation with the Devil and Inder.
And then Inder suddenly shouts “Oowww” when an unlit cigarette touches his hand. Inder then immediately realises that there was nothing that burnt him and he abruptly stops himself from screaming and running water over his arm.

The conversations continued interspersed with a lot of Lavender. Then in walks the raincoat man. The guy was draped in a raincoat and it wasn’t raining. Upon looking at this completely covered dude, Chilli asked whether it was raining that heavily.
I burst out laughing.
The raincoat man walked past too eager to prevent the minuscle moisture in the air from settling on him.

By the time we were done with dinner it was well beyond 11 pm. Then comes up the urge to have coffee somewhere and to sit around and talk. Well, Bangalore not exactly being like LA or New York city, its kinda tough to find coffee at that time of the night. Then the beautiful idea strikes of going to the railway station to have coffee. My addendum to that idea was to have coffee on the railway platform, but the idea was summarily rejected by the rest.
So we land at the railway station around 11:30 or so. (Land at the railway station….hmmm).
The coffee was there. Nice and strong. We took a few snaps with Inder’s camera. The camera also lured certain unwanted men…er…women….er…whatever.
Anyway, so the “whatevers” started hanging around us, trying to get their snap taken and wanting us to buy them cigarettes.

We managed to shoo them away. There ends the story. Suddenly Inder and the Devil began to laugh hysterically for god knows what. Chilli and I didn’t notice anything funny. I think Inder and the Devil hallucinate a lot sometimes.

From the railway station we then stopped near Inder’s place, with one more round of Polo mints. Some more snaps were taken. Some more conversations made. The best snap was the one in the detective pose, with our collars raised. The Devil in Azhar style. Reached home at around 12:30 in the night and finished reading one of Saki’s plays by around 2:30 am.

Sunday was already here.

Sunday was already here, like I said earlier.
Went for a Playback rehearsal in the morning at 11:00 am. It was good, although I didn’t fully enjoy the session. Probably something at the back of my mind needed immediate attention. Went to office from there.
Then met up Chilli and the Devil at IIM-B. Chilli and the Devil did a lot of CD burning. Also verified that my CDs were still around :-)

We then went to RIUS, some kinda coffee lounge on the ring road. The sandwich was lousy. The conversation was centred, again, around us being losers in a particular field. It was a lot of fun. It was very funny as well.
This thread of conversation continued right until I reached home.

Well, thats about what has happened today till now. Lets see what the later part of the evening holds for me.
Tomorrow is a holiday for me. Tomorrow is not here yet. :-)

Monday coming to an end. Thankfully.
I shall be asleep in sometime. Thankfully.

Today was like a roller coaster. Up and Down. And Down. And Down.
My blogs are too discontinuous. Nothing concrete comes out of them. No “message” that people can take from here.

So what?

It takes years to spin a thread.
A lunch can cause a person to go on a backfoot? Backfoot. After years of threading.

Chatting with this very very special person and I come up with this line:
I am not mean. I am average.

Hahahaha.

I am very grateful to oye for having been there when I needed the support.
Thanks a ton. It really helped.

Hello to all my readers.
Its been a very long time since I last posted something.
I have been hibernating. Not out of choice. But out of circumstances.

I feel slightly better now.
The last couple of weeks have been quite eventful.
Last weekend I along with my friends went to this place called Sandur. It is beautiful.
Atop a hill, surrounded by a forest and a breathtaking waterbody amidst the mountainous terrain.
The trip was a lot of fun, and I had a lot to blog about. But now its all faint and scattered.
I really should blog the moment I have things in my head.
But relax and don’t be disappointed. I do have the trip captured on video.
So, if you guys are interested (I understand you are), you could catch all the excitement on a VCD.
Buy the original VCD from me. Please do not buy pirated copies from any unauthorised source. Help save the industry. (Whatever industry that might be).

The week after that trip was uneventful. Work and some more work, topped with chunks of work.
This long weekend was quite uneventful as well. (This statement contradicts my fifth statement). Anyway, probably the weeks have been uneventful in reality but eventful in my head.

Friday was Dussehra. Or was it Saturday? Anyway, now that both these days have passed, happy belated Dussehra to you. And if you think that me not knowing which day the festival was is an offence, well, pal, cheer up cos Dussehra is gone anyway, whether it was Friday or Saturday.

One should never start a sentence with a conjunction like “and”. And one should stick to these rules of not starting a sentence with a conjunction.

I am not truly blogging whats on my head. Many things have been left “un-blogged”.

For the techies, here comes the exciting part.
I haven’t yet been able to get my computer’s BIOS to recognise my CD-ROM drive. I got two people from my computer vendor to come and check it out. They were as clueless as Sherlock Holmes without any clue. I tried figuring out the jumper settings on that drive, but it didn’t quite help. I need to get this thing right soon!!
Okay, now the exciting part ends.

I forgot to mention, I finally watched Pulp Fiction in its entirety. What a movie!! Tarantino rocks. And so does Samuel L. Jackson.
And so does the score of the movie. Many nice scenes in that movie. Mia dancing with Vincent. The coffee shop scene in the end. Guys, watch the movie. Be aware that the language used in that movie is filled with profanity.

I also finished the book “Five people you meet in Heaven”. Its in stark contrast to Pulp Fiction. Its beautiful as well. The ending is the best part. I am so glad for Eddie that his entire life has been explained to him and every event in his life had a purpose.
I do hope someone someday explains my entire life to me. I believe that this is exactly what happens in heaven. Five people come and explain to you the purpose of every incident that occured in your life.

The world is full of stories; and all stories are connected.

I have lost a lot of weight in the past few weeks. I plan to restore all that by working out more regularly. I have been skipping gym off late.
Trust me to spoil such a beautiful statement about the world being full of stories and all that by talking about my gyming schedule.

That reminds me of these famous lines from the best play of all time – Alms for Love
Hope is all we have, Anu
All we can cling to.
But frankly, its a very grim picture.
And its not getting any better

I am sure my classmates in school would remember these lines. Anyway, I was a part of the backstage crew for this play that we did in 12th standard. Its during one of those moments of shifting gunny bags on stage when I paused at the centre of the stage and looked at the empty seats. I felt the urge to perform on stage. To act.
Thankfully I have been doing that with Playback theatre.

Whew, that was one strong dose of nostalgia.
Too much has been blogged today. Too much for you all to read.

I am off now to the dreamy world of reality.

Good morning!
Skipped the gym this morning and instead went for a jog.
That was equally tiring.
Long day ahead. Its Wednesday already.
I seem to be in a hurry while I am typing this.
Well, I am.
See ya later.

One and a half days spent at the cricket stadium.
Had a very good time.
On Saturday the stadium was quite crowded. Indian and Aussie flags waving all over the place. Well, actually, Aussie flags were waving only in two sections
There was also one Karnataka flag. Haha…that dude was a clown to say the least. He used to wave the Karnataka flag whenever Dravid or Kumble came in action.

Anyway, Chilli and I watched the match till its death. Was a lot of fun :-) The best line being “Aiye, James Bond”, stated by a spectator sitting next to us. Some person was standing in front of this spectator and blocking his view. So, being the witty man that he is, this spectator addresses him as James Bond and asks him to sit.
Hahaha.
Hahahahahaha.

Just watched the second half of Goodwill Hunting. Really nice movie.

The best part of the movie is definitely the part where Ben tells Matt that everytime he walks upto Matt’s door to call him, he hopes that he wouldn’t be there. He hopes that he would have left for something better. And that is the highlight of his day. Watch the movie to get the drift of what I am saying.

I definitely think that one of the most amazing things about the human life is its ability to self-heal. No matter how many cracks and dents, the human mind can heal itself. Amazing. Simply amazing. And we don’t even give this ability a second thought. We always say time is the best healer. But hey, its not time thats healing you. Its you yourself healing you.
This came out during a conversation with a friend.
It also brought out my super-duper profoundness-laden line:
Subtlety is the way. Its not the destination.

Some crap. The point is that subtlety is required just as much as direct-talk. Subtlety can, in many cases, create a path for you to make the direct-talk.

I had a really nice time over the weekend.
I am sure you did too. If you didn’t, then I am not too sure.

Life rocks. Woooohooooooooo.

One of the lines from the movie, Goodwill Hunting:

Shawn: Do you have a soulmate, Will?
Will: Define that.
Shawn: Soulmate is someone who challenges you. Opens up things for you.

Alright, alright. I know that I have not been blogging regularly.
But hey, atleast I do blog!
(Clap…clap…clap…)
Thank you. Thank you.

I am so glad that you people are born in this age wherein you get to read my blog.
Ah! You are lucky indeed.

Now before we get on with today’s musings, there are two points I would like to make clear to you.
One: .
Two: .

Did you notice the two “points”?
Hahaha.

Whatever happens, probably happens for good.
I used the word probably. That should indicate as to how much I believe in the above statement.

Today was a bright, cheerful and seemingly rainy day. When I was inside my office, it seemed to me that it was raining outside.
There is this housekeeping guy in my lab. He can’t hear and he can’t speak. Yet he goes about doing his job so cheerfully.
I was simply amazed by his enthusiasm.
I, with all my faculties intact, still sit and emanate bouts of despair for every little turbulence in an opulent moment.

I am grateful to whomsoever it may concern for the life that I possess. To be devoid of any one of your basic senses is a big challenge indeed.
We come across a lot of people in our day-to-day lives. I am sure that everyone of them teaches us something and goes.
Its upto us whether we take the learning and memorize it or discard the learning and sit over it singing “Cut the crap”.
So, this housekeeping guy taught me how to be cheerful even in the most adverse of circumstances.
Nothing is over till the end.

I am going to shun my depression-laden behaviour. :-)
The gang is planning on a trip to some mines. Promises to be fun provided the Devil bunks office.
Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night.
Think I’ll need a Devil to set things right.

Funny, I had so many things to write about. All of a sudden, I can’t seem to recall any.
Anyway, I am signing off now.
You guys take care and have fun. (What a corny line to say, but I mean it)
Life is too precious to be spent in melancholy.
:-) (The smile just got wider)

Over the past few days I have had a million thoughts going through my head.
Everytime I decide to pen them down, two things stop me:
a) I don’t think I should blog everything that is personal b) I don’t think I should blog everything.

I am not feeling too good about things around me.
The darts continue to come back now and then.
Many of the essential and basic foundations have taken a beating over the past few weeks/months.
Foundations of trust and hope.

Aaah! There we go again blogging some serious crap.
Had a nice time last night. Met up a couple of friends at a head-banging water hole.
Was really nice. Dinner was good too.

But then, good times last for a very short time. The mind rules over matter.
Never mind what the matter is.
Hahaha…I am going berserk for sure.

Started going to the gym, yet again. I think that has become the only thing to look forward to in a day.
I still haven’t watched Pulp Fiction completely.
Note to anyone who posts a comment on this blog: Refrain from profanity. The blog is read by all and sundry and we wouldn’t want to spoil that. So, have deleted one of the comments in my earlier post.
However, I must say, that comment brought a smile on my face. The conversation is indeed awesome and probably one of the best in the movie.

Talking about comments, a really neat comment was posted by Chilli: The one about the “taay”. Hahaha….that made me laugh.

I have over-thought for the day. (When we can do something like over-slept or over-eat, there must be something like over-thought).

I was reading about the Kyoto protocol. The Kyoto treaty was started sometime in 1997 in order to curb the emission of greenhouse gases by developed countries.
So, every developed country (who signed this treaty) had to limit its emission to a certain capped value.
Russia, at that time, was allocated the limit of about 600 million tonnes or so. That meant, that Russia could only emit 600 million tonnes of harmful gas. More than that was prohibited.
Now, that is a very nice treaty indeed. Reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.
However, here is the interesting part.
After the Russian industrial collapse, the amount of emission in Russia came down to 400 million tonnes.
But, their capped limit was 600 million tonnes. So, guess what? They export the deficit of 200 million tonnes!!
They now provide permits to other countries to emit greenhouse (harmful!) gases upto a limit of 200 million tonnes.
And they make money by providing these permits.
Mankind, as always, never ceases to amaze.

If basic global policies are this flawed, what can be said of local rules and procedures?
I suppose man itself is flawed to quite a large extent.
If that is true, I suppose I don’t have to feel all that bad about myself.
